Hello, August!

It's been well over a year since I've done a currently & I will be honest, Farley's monthly currently is one of my favorites!! So, here it goes!

Listening: For the past like 2 weeks, my baby has been a crying binge.  Of course it's always at the most inopportune times for me too.  If I'm cooking dinner, she is crying.  If I'm working out, she's crying.  If I think I am gonna get in a little snooze, well she starts crying.  She wants to be held, fed, or well I have no clue what else she wants. Thankfully she is cute!

Loving: So today was day 8 of my 21 days of the 21 day fix!  If you haven't heard of it, look it up!  Or feel free to ask me about it!  I've never LOVED to workout if I'm being completely honest, but today I found myself AFTER I had already done my workout for the day thinking "man I want to work out again."  It's a mix of cleaning eating and working out, in 8 days I've seen the scale move and my clothes fitting more lose! Be gone baby weight! :)
Doesn't all this food look yummy!!
I also LOVE my new workout pants!

Thinking: After my sister being a thumb sucker for basically ever.... I knew I would fight a thumb sucker.... but when that's the only thing that seems to calm an always crying baby, I say thumb soothing is a go........ My BFF is super excited because her little man is a thumb sucker too!

Wanting: I have not had a day to myself since... I don't even know.  Well before baby S arrived.  Yes, I've been away by myself one 3 different days for professional development, BUT that is not a day to myself if you know what I mean!  I'm super excited that this week, I will get that!! It's WAY overdue!!

Needing: This year, our school is last on the list for cleaning.  Which means, we go back in 2 weeks for inservice & we may not be able to get back into our room until then.  This teacher is in FREAK. OUT. MODE.  As if setting up the classroom wasn't going to be enough, well I'm moving classrooms after five years, so I'm starting classroom set up again from scratch.  Did I mention I'm freaking out!?!? In the meantime I'm trying to get things done that I can for the classroom at home!  Here is my latest update.

B2S RAK:  I have some sweet treats planned, but I won't go into too much detail because I don't want to give it away! ;)

& of course before I go, I have to share another photo of my Berks!  She made her own pizza last night and loved it!! :)

Happy August!!
PS ... did I mention that this is my 100th blog post!!!! A good way to keep me motivated!! :)

November Currently

Can you believe it?!?! 2 posts one week?! Maybe I'm getting back into my groove, I would love that! :) I'm linking up with the fabulous Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade for her monthly currently! :)
http://ohboy3rdgrade.blogspot.com/

Listening:  After making muffins for B this morning, we loaded up the dishwasher.

Loving: Fall... I kid you not I love all things fall, pumpkins, coffee, soups, snuggles, clothes, boots, etc, etc... but even more than that I LOVE the cool weather that has finally made its way to Texas.... at least for the next couple of days that is...

Thinking:  It seems as though it was just yesterday that we celebrated Christmas, rang in the new year, began enjoying the beautiful spring weather, hunted Easter eggs, celebrated summers arrival, B turned two, and started the year all over again.  I swear, year by year, time begins to fly faster and faster.  I'm going to need this life to slow down!

Wanting: I've slowly felt my creative juices flowing back in, but I'm lacking the energy that this school year has sucked out of me.  Anytime this energy wants to reappear, it will be happily welcomed!!

Needing: With the lack of energy, I'm always wanting more sleep.... because let's face it an average of 6 hours a night is just NOT enough!

Yummy pin:  I personally love all things cheese, bacon, ranch, & chicken... when I saw this I couldn't help but pin & can't wait to try!! :)

I will be back again soon! :)

Where oh, where has the year gone?!?  I feel like it was just yesterday that we celebrated Christmas, rang in the new year, enjoyed spring, hunted Easter eggs, celebrated summer, B turned 2, and then school started all over again.  I swear, year by year, the time only flies faster and faster!

Sharpener Review, Currently, Giveaways, Educents, Meet Ups, Oh My!

Oh my gosh.  I have a lot in store for today!!  Originally it started out with me doing my review of the Quietest Pencil Sharpener, from Classroom Friendly Supplies.... But then Mrs. Farley put up her currently for August, and it was all a domino effect from there!! .....So let's get started! :)
I can't tell you how excited I was to have the opportunity to review this pencil sharpener!! I have entered countless giveaways & seen some raving reviews, but I have now been able to FINALLY try it out for myself! :)
It is basically completely assembled when it arrives, minus the piece that you use to attach it to a bookshelf, table, etc.  All I had to do was literally slide in the metal L shaped piece into the bottom of the sharpener and twist it to fit the shelf!!
Next you pinch the two black pieces at the top and pull out the face of pencil sharpener.
While still pinching the top pieces together, you insert your pencil & release the two pieces at the top.
Next, it is time to SHARPEN!!!! You can hold the top of the sharpener or just use handle to start turning & sharpening!! No need to hold the pencil yourself, because the sharpener does that for you!!
See how pretty & sharp these things are!!!
Because I'm kind of a nerd sometimes, I wanted to see just how long it took to sharpen a pencil using this thing... Start to finish... which includes the time it took the to press start  & stop... right at 8 seconds!! 8 SECONDS to sharpen a pencil!??!?
Because of the nerd in me... I also had to compare it to my electric pencil sharpener!  Holy cow... look how much sharper that tip is!! Not to mention, can you tell how rough the end of the pencil is on the electric one versus the Quietest Classroom Pencil Sharpener!??!
While there isn't always this much of a difference in the pencils sharpened by my electric sharpener... more times than not, it just EATS my pencils!  These were both BRAND SPANKIN' NEW pencils!  Look at the difference!

So was it really the quietest pencil sharpener?!?! Well it wasn't silent... but when you compare the noise of my electric pencil sharpener & the district supplied hand crank sharpener that makes it sound as though someone is trying to bust through the wall... HECK YES it is quieter!!! Probably half the noise of the other sharpeners!!   I was sharpening pencils while on the phone with a friend & asked her if she could tell what I was doing.... She thought I was using a paper cutter, it's that good!
Plus... I NEVER let my kids use my electric sharpener out of fear of them breaking it....I have no worries about them using my new pencil sharpener!!  Ekk, I'm excited!!  I would definitely say that it is well worth the price, especially since you can get two of these babies for the price of a good electric pencil sharpener, with free shipping!!  Click the icon below to head to the Classroom Friendly Supplies Website to check them out for yourself!

May Goals, Currently, Mother's Day Preview, Oh my!

So, it is officially May.  It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us.  At this point of the year, we are strictly is survival mode.

I am doing 2 linkys tonight & HAVE TO share the progress of my kiddos Mother's Day books!! L.O.V.E.

First, I'm linking up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

I found another great linky over at I {heart} Recess that involves making monthly goals!  So here's to May!

Ok, so now I MUST share some of the funness going on with our Mother's Day books.   In the past I have not been quite as prepared at this point. I would usually just be scrounging around to find my copies for the Mother's Day book.  However this year I have had them copied for a week and the covers and first 4 pages of the books are DONE!!  The covers have even already been laminated!  I changed my original vision for the cover this year about 28 million times before I was satisfied!

This one probably is one of my favorites solely because of her presh pose.  I don't know if you can tell or not, but she is totally pointing toward YOU, the reader, who in this case will be her sweet mom!! :)

This weekend, I bought a chalkboard at Hobby Lobby (reg.7.99 plus 40% off coupon = cheap!) and painted it the trim yellow!  So Monday I chalked it up & I took the kids pics!  They were able to choose whatever they wanted to be on the chalk board.  I ended up with 4 different signs, "I love you," "you're a supermom," "my mom's a rockstar," and "world's best mom!"  I printed the pics and they began the actual book yesterday.  MOST of the kids have completed 4 of the 10-12 pages of their book! Here are some of my favorite pages so far! :)
I mean seriously, how much funnier can it get!! I laughed out loud multiple times in regards to this kiddos writing!! I hope B never writes that my best cooking has to do with the microwave, especially since I use the microwave sparingly!

Love-Bug, I don't know who told you cleaning was fun, but they lied!  haha

These two pages were from the same little miss, but I couldn't pick one over the other to share.  She is such a hard worker and overall one of the SWEETEST kids I've ever had the privilege of having as a student!!
If you knew this kid, you would totally laugh extra hard because of his personality!  Love it!

You can grab this Mother's Day book in my TPT store by clicking below! :)
Wishing you a quick Thursday & Friday!! :)
